MARRIAGE SERVICES
AMSSA provides marriage services for Muslims according to both the Islamic law, as well as the Australian Legal requirements for marriage. The marrying couple must register with the Victorian Births Deaths and Marriages Department (VBDM).
Youth and Community development service’s
We at AMSSA believe that young people are the backbone of our community. Our youth branch, the AMSSA Youth Connect (AYC), plans and delivers multiple projects and programs each year that are designed to facilitate positive growth, empowerment and understanding of identities. They offer young people a safe spaces and platforms to explore ideas, concepts and creative endeavors to help navigate the sometimes-complex issues our youth face in the ever-changing environment that we live in today.

Islamic Classes
The Islamic classes here at AMSSA Centre are designed to provide the community. AMSSA Madrasah – The Madrasah runs Qur’an and Arabic lessons for kids from the Ages 6-15 with an inclusive curriculum. The Madrasah aims to effectively develop the young student’s knowledge of the Qur’an by teaching them to read, write and memorize.
A highly qualified teachers with years of experience in Qur’an teachings run our madrasah. The madrasah has it’s own) terms and conditions of entry that we expect everyone to agree on.
AMSSA Centre
AMSSA bought the current Centre in North Melbourne in 2012, to cater for the growing needs of the community. The venue is a refurbished warehouse, now housing a large Mosque for both men and women, Multiple classrooms and conference rooms, offices as well as an Indoor Stadium. The Venue also has large underground carpark that can hold almost 40 vehicles at a time.
AMSSA Centre is designed to be community hub where people can come not only to pray but to play, learn and relax, the Hub provides a large recreational space where people can spend their day.
Somali Language Teaching
Somali Language School for Children (Ages 6-15) Our Somali Language School provides an engaging and supportive environment where children aged 6 to 15 can learn and connect with their heritage through the Somali language. We focus on building language skills—speaking, reading, and writing—while fostering cultural pride and identity.
Counselling Services
Our Counselling service is the first of its kind, the service offers the community. Our Counselling service is the first of its kind, the service offers the community, the opportunity to access a wide range of counselling service free of charge. Through consultation, expert advice and follow-up support, AMSSA aims to tackle some of the most significant issues affecting our community in this changing environment that we live in today.
The service will be delivered by a highly qualified experts and sheikhs from our community who are passionate about giving back to the people.
The Consultations will be one on one as well as group format and will be in English, Somali, and Arabic, however translations will be available if need be. You must make an appointment to sit with one of our councilors.
